Garden Hippo picked up some flowers for me to plant in the gardens today. He told me I could lay in the hammock only after I finished planting all of them. As you can see by the last picture, Garden Hippo was pleased with the work I did and I’m allowed to relax in the hammock for the rest of the afternoon.

Garden Hippo has put all of this year’s veggie seeds into his new gardens. There’s the main garden, which is more than twice the size of the gardens he has managed in the past, an old well, and flower boxes on the front of the house. He planted corn, two types of hot peppers, two types of tomatoes, beans, Swiss chard, butter crunch lettuce, jack-o-lantern pumpkins, pie pumpkins, and zucchini. There will be some flower and veggie plants added to the mix during the next week or two.

Overall he is very happy with his work and he’s excited to keep a new group of pests out of the yard. He’s living outside full time now and told me that the rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels will learn to stay away very soon.
