I took a very slippery walk through the woods this morning in an attempt to photograph some of the ice covered trees. Unfortunately, there wasn’t quite enough of a coating of ice and I waited a bit too long to get out there so the sun wasn’t at a great angle either. So, the icy branches that I took photos of just look kind of wet, and looking wet isn’t as nearly as exciting as being caked with ice.
I just ended up experimenting with the camera settings and ended up with a nice picture taken directly into the sun. Shooting into the sun doesn’t generally make for a good photo, but I like this particular shot came out. I squeezed the aperture down to f/16 to get the sparkling look for the sun (or whatever you want to call how it looks).
